I put a warning on this one just becausssse >w>;
Since i wasn't able to put a video up since no one wanted to stand in the hotness an video me skinning and getting flies bugging them, took pictures.

from the top, left to right.
I first make a deep cut making a 'U' shape from the middle of the calf between the genitalia and bum,

I then I slowly start to peek away the skin from the thigh muscles to where all the leg and skin is seperated from the tump to the ankle.

I then cut around the back sid so only the til is holding that in place.

I then work on the ankles and feet. freeing them, and cut off the tail to work on it, or to let the tanner get it out.

then usually I start pushing the skin furth onto it stomach turnign the hide insideo ut while im doign it, I ususally get to the last rib, then i make a cut from the elbow to behind the pads on the front paws, working on them to get them free I usually keep the paws turned inside out for the tanner to work with them on that..

I also get the muzzle to the eyelids free before turning it inside out again and cut and pull the hide away from the carcass getting all the ear but and eyelids.

then took pictures of the hide of the finished product.

and if you got BS to say keep BS to yourself, cause i don't care about BS.

hit the back button if you find this some how offensive.

what do you do with the "meant" when your done
CreatureUndertaker Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2014  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
im not seeing where i had said 'meant'
but with the meat i usually cut the head off and toss the bodies out to let the rest of the critters eat on them.

i meant meat XD sorry. ok thats interesting but i dont even know what kind of animal eats a dog. that pretty weird
CreatureUndertaker Featured By Owner Feb 12, 2014  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
youd be suprised haha.
esp wild animals they take what they can get usually esp. in the dead of winter.

coyotes eat dogs.
but this was a fox, which a fox is classified as majority as a middle class within the ecosystem since sometimes they are preyed apon their larger cousins including coyotes, wolves, dogs, cougars, eagles.

pretty much when youre dead youre fair game for all.

I've seen that alot of people just leave the bones in the tail, won't that smell after a while? ( with the flesh and all)
CreatureUndertaker Featured By Owner Aug 20, 2013  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
yea it would, personally i wouldnt do that or buy from people who do cause that could draw bugs.
especially like animals with fatty long tails like foxes, or even to bobcats and squirrels, just always best to remove any of the bones.

Great tutorial, thanks for sharing. :)
My "best" skinning knives aside from scalpels are my trusty old Mora and an ancient Victorinox filleting blade. The bit I have trouble with the most is the tail...for some reason I always seem to end up with it in two pieces!
